Fire Department :)

One of my childhood dreams was to visit the fire department! My dream came true. We had a chance to see fire trucks, firemen, try their uniform and slide down from a metal pipe (which was the most exciting part). I did it twice. Kids enjoyed that a lot but were a bit afraid of sliding down.
Is there any chance that I can become a firewoman? ;)

I'm fighting with my thesis now  :) It's not easy at all...

Spring - in my heart ;)

At the beginning I thought  that I will write here everyday but it turned out that I’m lazy! Don’t think that nothing is going on here…
So.. let’s start from one polish girl birthday party. She invited about 50 Erazmus students for a dinner to a little cute Italian restaurant. That was also my first time when I met some polish people here in Estonia J (Anyway I didn’t come here to hang around with Poles, didn’t I ? J)
It was very nice to seat with all this people from all over the world in the same table and just enjoy different meals, sipping wine and finish it with a dessert!
Next was Susan’s birthday party. Susan is a crazy Egiptian girl

We didn’t miss anything on a party. There were snacks, champagne, music, balloons, cake, guitar playing, singing, dancing, shisha, everybody’s good mood and even crowd surfing! (which is this crazy thing that rockstars do on their concerts – they just jump from the scene on the audience’s hands). I forced Susan to sleep in this t-shirt after the party :P

Well, this will sound pretty the same but then there was a birthday party of one of the kids in Käopesa. That was funny.. all this kids running around with paper hats on their heads :) I’ve just realized that after I left a kindergarten I haven’t seen so many small children in one place at once. Their behaviour is interesting to observe. They are never bored because either they cry about a toy car, run and fight, hug you and stick to you or just simply laugh at a piece of a dust on a floor. They always DO something ;) They are not fed up with life as we adults..

Then was Tallinn!!! We arrived there with a girls in a very early morning so we had plenty of time to sightsee. Last time when I was in Tallinn temperature was pretty under -20! Now was hundred times better.

We’ve even seen the sea! I’ve never seen so much ice on a sea before.

After the sightseeing we went to play our roles as a jury on the global village. Aiesecers from  15 countries (not only from Europe) came to share with us their culture, national dishes and customs. We had to judge their food, outfits and performance on a scene. In the end winners were Greece (for food), Austria(for outfits) and Turkey (for performance).

For me the most exciting moment was when I saw our Polish delegation and Monia and Papaj among them! J Actually I saw Papaj first :P He was wearing polish flag fasten on his back like some kind of a batman, haha :D That was great to see your friends in the same place on the same event!

After the Global Village there was International Table where we simply got drunk starting with a shot which was similar to polish mad dogs but without a juice on a bottom so only vodka and Tabasco sos. We were said that we have to drink it because otherwise we cannot say that we’ve been to Tallinn.

The next day I was so tired that I’ve barely walked. . We went back to Tartu and I had an invitation for a Swimming-pool party! Imagine that you’re exhausted and freezed.. the best think you can get is relax in jacuzzi and sauna with a drink in your hand and good music in a background. YEAH.

On Friday we organized Rainbow Party for kids.. where they had a chance to wear clothes in their favourite color, play different games and sing karaoke. They definitely had much fun.. especially with singing J

Saturday night was planned in 2 weeks advance. Dub FX concert! How cool was that?! I admire the guy.. and his girlfriend who perform with him. Actually she is more powerful and charismatic than he is. We were just in front of the scene what you can say even from pictures.

Children have a holiday week now.  My children shelter organizes them many events. Woman who takes care about the kids in a day center is really creative. Every time I’m there they are doing another amazing handcrafts. Here’s interesting drawing of one boy. This is Estonian city:

Interesting, isn’t it?

I felt in love with Estonian cakes, cookies, sweets!!! Pure awesomeness. This is my favourite one.

Yesterday we relaxed in a shisha bar.. Spring celebration  … even though we are still surrounded by snow :P

First weekend of April I’m going to Riga! Be prepared for more news J

Busy days :)

I haven’t been writing lately because so many things are going on around that I don’t even have time to think about writing J

Finally I found my mates so I’m not depressed anymore.

Firstly what was going on in work lately.
I saw how to make a carpet! On this huge wooden appliance to make carpets. Turvakodu owns one of this. Once a week a lady who is specialist on this field is coming and teaching children. She thought me too! :D

Last Tuesday here in Estonia was a sledding day. I went sledding with the kids somewhere 25 km from Tartu. There was a small hill and they had a lot of fun. I was scared though!... I haven’t been sledding for years… I slid down only once with the sledges.

Then was a women’s day when we got flowers from our friend Taavi. So sweet of him!
We’ve had also a photo shooting lately with one girl from AIESEC who study this subject. It was held in a studio. That was my first time when I was in such place. (the results later :)
As I said once..  I want my Estonian adventure to be the time of my first times ;) I’ve already had ‘THE FIRST embarrassing situation in my life’  but it’s not the best idea to write it here.

Yesterday there was The Culture Night where all of was were presenting our countries. I think it went well.
I will upload some pictures later :)

On Wednesday we’re going to Tallinn for the global village J It might be fun! WE are in a jury! :P YEY!
